It is important to write your legislators to let them know how concerned you are about handgun violence and to demonstrate that you are aware of how he/she votes on gun issues. Be sure to check out our sample letter and adapt it for your own use, writing as often as you can to let your elected officials know that you are holding them accountable.

 

 

Right now, it is equally important to write to your local, state, and national candidates for office as well. It is appalling that there has been so little mention of gun violence in the campaign arena, even though it is one of the most pressing issues for voters. Take a look at this letter and modify it as you wish, being sure to press for a discussion of the problem, and ask for your candidate’s PLAN for action on gun violence in our streets, schools, college campuses, and front porches.
